First PeriodMath Art Projects:All Classes – Due Tue/Wed May 28/29th
Students have been introduced to the Math Art project. This will count as two test grades in the project and activities portion of their grade.
I have gone over the kinds of art that they can do.I have hand outs on how to do each kind of art and examples in my classroom. They may also propose other things to me if they like as long as we can figure out a way to make it math related.
For most of these topics I have hand outs for students. They are to come to next class with their “art proposal” ready to show me – showing that they have committed to a certain type of art and have made a real plan of what they are going to do.This is what we will be doing next class. When they have given me their proposal and I’ve approved it – I will give them their paper. They will be able to work on this in class all week this week.As soon as they have completed their project they m ay turn it in to me.Final Due Date All Classes – Due Tue/Wed May 28/29th.

Math Art Project This Week – Students will be picking their projects on Monday- they will need to provide their own markers, colored pencils, crayons or what ever medium they choose to work in.I will provide the paper and directions.
If you happen to have an abundance of available (left over from multiple school years of new boxes of crayons, markers, colored pencils etc) left over art supplies that you would like to send in – or donate new ones – we would be most grateful

Home Room Business
Dear Home Room Parents –
Recently I sent out a form for students to list their progress report grades so that I could monitor their progress and coach those needing it through the end of the year doldrums that often set in.
I have received very few of these back. If you would PLEASE take the time this weekend to sit down with your child and go over all of their CURRENT mygradebook.com grades and review anything they need to make up or pay attention to that would be most helpful. I have attached a form for them to complete and return to me signed on Monday so that I can review this information and help those in need of coaching.
Your assistance in getting this filled out and returned would be most helpful. If you care to do this by email that is fine with me.
See attached form please. (below)
Many Thanks -

Periods 2,3, 5
Periods 2,3, 5REMINDER ALL CLASSES:
Journal Entries are a daily assignment. You should be entering your journal entries for each day of class. They will be checked as homework as a lump sum to-date grade twice during the 9 weeks. Not doing your journals hurt a lot of you last 9 weeks. There are more copies in the classroom if you need them and also you can print them out yourself below.
Notebooks should be cleaned out (and stuff saved elsewhere) and your notebook should contain only stuff for the 4th 9 weeks. The final notebook check for the year will count as a significant test grade and I will be taking points off for having old stuff in there and if the proper current things are missing. See class syllabus for directions on notebook format and expectations below.
Homework Policy –
Homework is due NEXT CLASS ALWAYS.If home work is not done when it is checked it may be turned in until the end of the week that week for late credit. After Friday of that week those homework assignments will no longer be accepted.
