    Morning Announcements

    Congratulations to the softball team they are District champs. Brittany Poseypitched 1-0 shut out, Marissa Lovvorn was the catcher. They play in the regionals here at home Tues. 4/22 vs Keystone.

    Senior baseball night is tonight (4/18) against Union County. Everyone is invited out to bid farewell to seniors CJ Brown, Alex Mikkelsen, and Andrew Treweek as they will play in their last regular season home game. The ceremony starts at 6:30 and the game will follow at 7:00.

    Congratulations to Kelli McCrery for making The Gainesville Sun’s Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Other congratulations go out to: Mariel Mena, Alex Avera and Sarah Waters for making 1st team All area players.And Allison Mervau for making honorable mention

    Congratulations to the track and field teams on a great regional meet Wed. (4/16).JT Mallory won the long jump and was the regional champion.We will be advancing to the state meet next Friday (4/25).Also joining JT at the state meet are the following athletes that qualified: Mark Dugger, Jordan Shannon, Kadeidra “that’s right” Jackson, Stephanie “Whu hoo” Denardo, Kylee “ the amazing qualifying in three events” Skidmore, Meghan “ take it personally” Roberts, and Erika “get the job done” Daugherty.Also a shout out to the girls team captain Juliana Hughes for great leadership and a great season.

    High school juniors and seniors are needed to host a career fair participant on the morning of Tues 4/22 from 8:30-11:30. Responsibilities include meeting and greeting, escorting, staying with the participants, running errands and other responsibilities as needed.See Mrs. Otero in the guidance office by Thurs. 4/17. You will earn 3 community service hours.

    The crew of the Thespians one-act Born to Be Blue there will be no rehearsal today (4/18).

    All Cheerleaders - football and basketball squads, please meet in the aerobics room for a team meeting from 2:50 - 3:15 on Monday, (4/21)

    Also, can you please give a reminder announcement on Tuesday's and Thursday's (elementary too) that we are selling delicious snow cones for $1 at the cafeteria.

    Andrea Potter will be signing with St. Petersburg college today (4/18) 3pm at the Gym.

    For the Cast & Crew of 42nd Street: The Rehearsal for Friday (4/18) has been cancelled. There is no rehearsal on Friday. There WILL be rehearsal as planned for Saturday (4/19). Be at the PAC at 9:30 am on Saturday Morning.

    Attention Seniors please make sure you bring your memorable pictures for the Senior Slide show. Please give to Ashely Lansberry, Brittney Posey, or Marissa Lovvorn. The last day they will be collecting is Tues, April 29.

    Last Blood Drive of the year Thursday, 4/24 from 8:30am-3pm. Student donors will receive credit for community service. If you are interested you can sign up with Ashley Hechavarria, Tatum Nichtenberger, Daniel Marston, and Blain Alfonso.

    "It's prom time again. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased any time at the business office. The Prom is Saturday May 10th. Don't miss out on this "enchanted" event.

    Come take a reading road trip with the 4th grade Scholastic book fair in the Mead Library! We will be open through Friday (4/18) from 8-3:30. Parent Night is tonight. (4/17) from 4-7pm.

    Seniors, you have the opportunity to have portraits taken in a cap and gown next Thursday, April 24th, in the library. Picture order forms are available in Mr. Beyer and Ms. Brammer's room. If you want to have your portrait taken, you MUST pick up an order form in advance and see Mr. Beyer or Ms. Brammer to sign up for a time slot IN ADVANCE. Payment will be due to the photographer when you have your photo taken and the cap and gown will be provided. See Ms. Brammer with any questions.

    Any Sophomore or Junior with an unweighted G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher may pick up an application for membership in the National Honor Society from Mr. Seymour in room L-353. All completed National Honor Society applications are due to Mr. Seymour by Monday, May 5th.

    Class of 2011 t-shirts are available from Mr. Seymour for the sale price of $8.00. If you have already taken delivery of a shirt on credit, please pay the original agreed upon price by Wednesday, April 30th to avoid a late payment fee. All proceeds go to the C/O 2011 Fund.

    April is National Poetry Month. Please come to the library to see selected poetry books in display. Our featured Author of the month is Emily Dickinson.
