    Morning Announcements

    Congratulations to both the boys and girls track and field teams on their district titles.
    Event district champions for the squad were:Kadeidra Jackson won the 200m dash,
    Kylee “the destroyer” Skidmore scored 40 points and won every event that she was entered in. She won the pole vault with a personal best of 11 feet, she won the 400 m dash, 800m run and was on the first place 4x800 m relay. Juliana “the senior” Hughes won the 300 m hurdles, Meghan Roberts, Morgan Brown, Erika Daugherty and Kylee Skidmore crushed the competition in the 4x800 m relay, Whitney Mendez, M’Kayla Lumpkins, Asja Long, and Ivi Crawford won the 4x100m relay. Zari Whittaker, Stephanie Denardo, Erika Daugherty and Kadeidra “the incredible” Jackson won the 4x400m relay.

    On the boy’s side: Jordan Shannon won the 400m dash. Emmanuel Payne won the 110m hurdles and 300 m hurdles. JT Mallory won the high jump and long jump. Lexley Shelton won the discus throw. This was the boys seventh straight district title and the girls second district title. Great job Blue Wave track and field.

    Special thanks to Ms. Bearman for coming out to support the team.

    The regional meet this Wednesday (4/16) at Bolles in Jacksonville. Go Blue Wave!!!

    Congratulations are in order to Ian Wallace, Byron Burdette and Alex Otero for performing as guest artists with the U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors this past Thursday night at the Phillip Center for Performing Arts. The packed house enjoyed a great evening of music and entertainment with the culmination of our members joining the band to play the Big Band classic "In the Mood". Congratulations to Alex, Ian, Byron and Mr. Porter.

    For the Cast of 42nd Street, please come to the chorus room today after school for your shoe fitting.

    The Scholastic book fairs starts tomorrow (4/15) and runs thru Friday (4/18 in the Library.Times are 8am-3:30pm and Thurs (4/17) Family night 3:30-7pm.

    Help the Parent Teacher Organization decide on their next t-shirt design! The finalists designs are posted in the glass case outside the front office and also on posters around the Middle/High school wings. Make a point to check out the designs that a few of our very own students created, you will be voting on Tues. (4/15) in your home room.

    Students interested in taking driver’s ed this summer should stop by the guidance office to pick up an application today (4/14) or tomorrow (4.15).The applications should be returned to the traffic safety center as soon as possible to be sure to get a spot in the class.You must be 15 by June 7th in order to enroll in summer driver’s ed.

    April is National Poetry Month. Please come to the library to see selected poetry books in display. Our featured Author of the month is Emily Dickinson.

    Santa Fe Community college will be hosting “Senior Night 2008” on Wednesday 4/16/08 from 6 to 8 pm. High school seniors and their families are invited to SFCC for an evening of tours, interest sessions an program information.

    Students remember to take care of all overdue books and fines in the Library. (over 20 high students and over 45 Middle school students)

    Tickets are for sale for “42nd Street” $10.00 students and $15.00 for adults.The box office is open everyday. 1:30-3:30.

    Student you have another opportunity to get Community service hours.Students are needed to be a part of the backstage crew for the production 42nd Street.They need 10-15 dedicated stagehands.For more information see Mr. Macintosh or Mr. Davidson.
